Archivers Class Card

Here is one of the cards I did at the last class I took at Archivers. We used Ranger paints to paint the stamp..it was cool, but if you have never used paint on your rubber stamp, you had to get use to how much pressure you put on your stamp. The flowers on the card have Ranger crackle on them and Ranger Stickles on the ends. I like how it turned out and will need to practice more with paints and rubberstamping

Two Happy Monkeys

Here is a cute card I did not long ago to send to my nephew who's birthday is coming up here soon. I love these monkeys. I found this stamp at Archivers while browsing through the stamps. Have you noticed I go to Archivers a lot? Its my favorite store. You wont find awesome deals like Hobby Lobby has, but it has everything you can think of.

The paper I used was from an old kit that I had ordered on QVC like two years ago. I had it stashed in a box and found it while I was cleaning out my craft closet one day. The buttons were with the kit as was the ribbon. Hard to believe I had this stashed away and had forgotten all about it. Glad I found it and many other goodies.

I will be taking some pictures tomorrow of some cards I made at an Archivers card class I took last week. Shabby Chic...awesome class. I have really been digging these classes at Archivers and plan on taking another one later this month. Its not a card class but you make an album. Cant wait.

Another Valentine To Share

Here is another Valentine I made. I signed up to take a valentines card workshop at Archivers and this was one of the cards shown in the newsletter. Mine is different than the actual one we made, which I will post for you next when I take the picture. But all in all, I think this was an easy valentine card to make if you don't have a lot of time, which most of us don't.

I bet you all thought I was dead huh? I know, I'm a terrible blogger these days...I don't know why I cant get it together. I will try to be better.

Anyway, here is a cute Valentine I made the other day. I got these Hero Arts cling stamps at Archivers. They look so good I wish I could eat them..lol.

Nothing fancy, just colored them using my Prismacolor markers and Sharpies. Punched out some hearts and added them to the card...that's it.

Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend. At least its a bit warmer here.

A Christmas Card

How about a Christmas card for now? I have to purchase "adobe elements" before I can edit any more cards..free trial is up..darn.

Anyway, this image is a fun one to make cards with. The background paper is shiny so its kinda hard to see. I got this cool paper at Archivers and love it. I stamped my image and colored with Prismacolor markers. I added glitter to my hurricane lamp. I wasn't sure how it might turn out, but I like it. Nice and sparkly. I used my gold leaf pen and went around the image and the Merry Christmas.

Hope you all are doing good. Things around here are same old same old...therapy, therapy, therapy..haha.

Your Birthday Popped Up..

How cute is this stamp set? Makes the perfect card for male or female..I absolutely love a card that can be either or. Or you could leave off the sentiment that goes with the popcorn and make it an invitation for a movie party or something...the Sky's the limit.

Nothing too exciting going on in my neck of the woods. I was very lucky last week when I went to therapy. I tortured myself so bad that my therapist did not put me on my stomach and bend my leg up....woohoo! Of course she is still gonna do it she says so she can feel how I'm coming along, but the more I can hold her off, the better for me. I also got a different leg brace that allows my leg to bend when I walk. It is so much easier to walk and sit in a chair. I just love my therapist.

I did work on a few cards today, so will post as I get pictures taken.

Halloween Cards Round One

Ok, so how cute is this little dog? I know, very cute indeed. I was visiting a scrapbook website and they had this video on it, so I'm thinking, ok, I will bite. I watched the video and low and behold, here is this lady stamping cards with this stamp set and another one that I got.

This set is really cool in the fact that you can decorate the dogs. The set comes with the fixings for the color, the bow and the jacket...I don't know if its a jacket or not, but that's what I'm calling it. There are other designs besides the poke a dots.

I used paper from a stack that was bought at Michales long long time ago. The ric rak is some that I purchased through Close To My Heart. The sentiment "Greetings!" is included in the stamp set.

Therapy for my knee is going good. I haven't been tortured yet...key word "yet" The torture comes when my therapist decides its time to make me get on my stomach and she bends my leg up to my butt...yeah, that's right..all the way up there....I do believe its coming this week though. I have been trying sooo hard to bend it myself so she doesn't have to torture me so much. We will see how this week goes.

Celebrate The Season

Here is one of my Christmas cards that I plan on sending out this year. I have four designs. Most everything is done except I have to put it all together. That's usually the thing that is the quickest of the whole procedure of making my Christmas cards.

This stamp was stamped first with versamark and then I embossed in gold. Finally I added some glitter.

The little red poinsettia has a brad in the middle. Not sure if I will add the little rhinestones on the cards since that will probably cost more to mail. Who knows though.

Still recovering from my knee surgery, which will be three weeks on Wednesday. I go to therapy tomorrow...how I hate to even think about it. Ive been doing my exercises every day, which is good for me, since I don't do usually do them..LOL. This time around I want to get better as fast as possible, so I'm not messing around.

Halloween Kitty

I was able to do a few cards yesterday while I had my leg propped up. It wasn't that easy, but I managed. The trick is not having to get up much to find things.

This cute little kitty is a QuicKutz die that I got at Archivers about a month ago. The white that the cat is mounted on is also a QuicKutz die. I absolutely love these QuicKutz die cuts. They are so easy to use. No guess work as to where things go.

I added some stickles to the cats eyes and added some ribbon that I got at Papertrey Ink on the side.

The "Happy Halloween" comes from a clear dollar stamp that I bought at Michaels long time ago. Pattern paper is from my stash.

Pretty easy card to put together once you have your kitty all cut out.

I managed to make three more Halloween cards which I will share with you in the upcoming days...enjoy and tata for now....

Glimmer Mist Christmas Card

I guess I should of used a different colored background...its suppose to be gold...cant really tell though. Kinda looks yellow. I'm really out of practice when it comes to taking pics of my cards these days. Not to mention I have had to adjust to using Photoshop Elements instead of Photoshop.... I might get the hang of this new program one day. So you will have to bear with me here.

This card was stamped and embossed. I embossed in gold. I colored the tree with Glimmer Mist..this is new to me. I tried it out for the first time at Archivers. I signed up to do a Christmas cards workshop..which this is a card that I did. I added some rhinestones to the tree and used my gold pen to color on the side of the white cardstock. The actual card is a QuicKutz die in the shape of a tag. Pretty cool. I loved this workshop so if you have an Archivers by you, its totally worth it. The actual class is "Timeless Traditions" There is also a Copic Christmas class that I would like to sign up for also, but depends on my knee. Not very easy sitting in a chair too long with a huge brace on your leg.

Guess thats it for now...I might venture into my craft room tomorrow and see how long I can sit there and try to create something for Halloween to show you. I got some things in the mail that I had ordered before my surgery and they are just waiting for me to play with. I cant wait.

Rocket Birthday Card

Well, its not a Christmas card...I seriously need to get my programs loaded onto this computer. Trying to edit a picture in Picasa is really not working all that great.

This image is from a digi image I found out there in Internet land. It came with like five other images..some are colored and others are not. So even if you are colored challenged, you can make it work on a card. I colored with Prismacolor markers and Sharpies. You probably cannot tell, but the windows of the rocket have that clear effects on it to make it look like glass. I cant wait to get back into my stamping again. I have some new die cuts from Archivers and I haven't even been able to play with them yet. Sigh.

Recovery is slow...yesterday was a bad day. My husband had to call the doctor because my pain medication was not working anymore. So, we got some that is more potent..LOL

Fall Card

Not sure how this is gonna look....I don't have Photoshop on this laptop yet so I had to use Picasa and load it directly onto my blog from there. I need to get my son to get that installed.

I cant even take credit for this card. I went to my Stampin Up demonstrators workshop and one of the cards we made used this set. Mine is a bit different. but the stamps are all the same.

Well, my surgery on Wednesday went well and I was even home an hour earlier than I thought I would be. I think yesterday was the worse...but today isn't feeling all that wonderful either. I thought I could get away with taking just one pain pill but that wasn't the case...so when its time to take more pain pills, I'm taking two.

I see my surgeon on Tuesday of next week to get my stitches removed and then he will tell me when I have to start therapy...not looking forward to that at all. Just thinking about it freaks me out.

Well, I have some Christmas cards to show you also, but will save those for tomorrow. I'm finally feeling like I can get on my computer...those pain meds really make me feel strange.

Whats New?

The time is finally here to have the surgery on my ripped ACL..I will be having my surgery next Wednesday Sept. 23. I'm totally freaked out. I think what gets me the most is that I know what is coming. I have had this done to my right knee 7 years ago. I know what it will feel like when that nerve block wears off..I know the recovery is gonna be bad. I know the pain is awful. I think I did better the first time cause I never knew what was coming. That's the bad thing about this surgery.

I only hope that it will be better this time around...they will not be using anything from me to repair this...I will be using a Cadaver. My surgeon says the recovery time will be faster and easier since he will not be grafting a ligament or tendon from my body...I sure hope he is right. My surgery will be an hour and a half and I can finally go home about 4 in the afternoon. Not too bad I guess.

I have been going nuts trying to get everything done that I need to before surgery. I want a very clean house to come to..laundry done and all that. Also, I have been preparing things for my stamp group at church. Yes, I will take some pictures of a few of the cards I made up for them to work on while I'm gone. I know I have been a very bad blogger....not sure why exactly...I really haven't been doing much crafting...maybe that is it.

OH, I also have some Christmas cards to show you. I went to an Archivers workshop over the weekend and I made four awesome cards. I have already starting working on my Christmas cards. Figured I better get them started since I'm gonna be laid up.

Ok, enough for now...I will take my pics tomorrow when I finish everything I'm doing.

I bet you thought I forgot about you all huh? Well, my laptop broke...I took it in to have it looked at and it was the video card. Not worth replacing since the laptop was four years old. So, after looking and thinking about it...I finally got a new laptop yesterday. So...Im back...whew...I dont have a card for you today since I need to move all my files over, but I do have a cute set from TAC...its the September SOTM...I think Im gonna have to order this one...there is an adorable one coming up for October..so will show you that when the time comes. TAC baby card

It seems like I'm always showing you baby cards. I create a lot of baby cards to go with the baby albums that I make for the ladies at my church. Also, its nice to have baby cards on hand...you just never know when you might need one.

This card uses a TAC (The Angel Company) set. Would you believe this is the first time I have used this image and Ive had the set for probably six or seven months...crazy I know. I think that might be a sign that I have way too many stamps.

Nothing special about putting this together. I used my scallop border punch for the top and colored with Copics and Prismacolor markers...the pattern paper is also from TAC. Next time I think I will paper piece the diaper and blanket...that would of been cute. Funny how I think of these things after the fact.

Its crunch time for me these days. Our stamping sale at church will be here before I know it and Ive been busy trying to get as many cards and other sale items done before I have my knee surgery the end of September or first of October....so I will post as often as time permits.

Sending Smiles

Yet another Papertrey Ink card for you using the same set as the balloon card....I used a set from TAC for the flowers. Stamped the bike and colored with my Copics. Added some hot pink floss to my buttons and stamped the sentiment on the bottom...although, looking at the card now, it seems like the sentiment is a bit crooked...things happen...lol

The hot pink paper is also Papertrey Ink. I love their cardstock and the way everything matches. Its so easy to create a card when everything matches. I didn't always think this way...but it does make it easier.

Tomorrow I will be spending time out at my pool with one of my girlfriends and her daughter...I'm sure we will have lots of fun.

Soaring By

Here is my latest creation using a new set that I just got from Papertrey Ink

This is a fun set to use. Instead of buttons you can use flowers or whatever you think would be cool....maybe just pattern circles..the skies the limit with this set.

This is only one of the images..there are many more, which I will show you in the days to come.

The dots on the background are also from PTI, which I got quite awhile ago. I decided to use dots since the balloons are circles...I also used my scallop punches to mount my balloon image on.

Its kinda hard to see, but I used some dark blue ribbon on the bottom over the red paper.

Life is always busy in the summer. We just got home from a fun camping trip. We try to camp twice a month. We go back to the Quad Cities, which is where I'm originally from and that's where our family and friends are....most of our friends anyway..lol

Yesterday I spent the day in the pool, but today its kinda cloudy and there is a chance of some rain coming in later today...so I will go get some errands done that I didn't do yesterday.

Busy Busy

Seems like I am never home these days. I have been gone every weekend for the last four weekends. Just got home from visiting my brother and family in Omaha over the 4th. We had a great time and cant wait to go back again in the next month or month and a half.

Saw my doctor today and we are going to schedule my surgery for the end of September or first of October. I will see him again the middle of September. I am going to San Antonio sometime in September so want to wait until after that to have my surgery.
Why waste a good summer...lol

This card uses a Stampin Up set that I got and hadn't even inked....crazy I know. Colored her with Prismacolor markers and used some pattern paper that I had in my stash...the never ending stash of paper.....matted my sentiment and my main image and that's it. Very easy. Have no idea who I'm going to send it to, but it turned out pretty good.

I know its time to get busy and make some more cards to show you. I have a scrapbook order I need to get busy on also. I'm doing a baby boy scrapbook for a lady in my church to give to someone in her family. This lady has probably ordered 10 baby books from me in the last year. I'm glad she has a big family...lol

Two cup a day

I know, you have all probably seen this image tons of times on here, but I need to take some photos of new cards..so this is the one you get..hehe.

This is how I feel every morning when I get up. Two cups to get moving and then another cup in the afternoon to stay awake...its sad really.

Pretty easy card to put together...stamped the card with some coffee beans and coffee words. Colored my image, which is Rubber Romance with my Prismacolor markers...layered her on some blue cardstock and that's it. The sentiment I got from Archivers on one of my many visits to that store. Sometimes I think I keep that place in business...sshhh..dont tell my husband that one.

Today was another hot day. I actually got in my pool and layed on my float for awhile baking my skin...I know, not funny. It was nice to just relax out in the sun, even though I was sweating big time.

Therapy is going well and I only have one more visit..unless when I see my surgeon the first of July he says I have to go for more since I don't want my surgery until the fall...I figure why waste my summer being on crutches and not being able to do anything...no fun at all.

Guess that's it for now...hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'm going camping, which is always fun.

Anyway, I saw this card and absolutely loved it. Simple but pretty at the same time. And it was so easy to make. I love these quick cards.

Yesterday was therapy day, which was better this week than last. After last week, I could hardly walk the day after. I was thinking..."ok, I'm suppose to feel better, not worse after therapy" haha.

Today is treadmill day, which I need to get busy over here and do it. The more I put it off, the more I wont do it.

Guess that's about it for now....I have started to make some jewelry so I will have to take a picture to show you....its pretty fun and addicting. When will I have time to make new cards? Just joking.

Another 4th Of July

I have my 4th of July cards done, now all I need to do is send them out...you watch, I will probably forget..haha.

This card uses Quickutz dies that I found at Archivers. Each month they come out with more dies and I usually go buy a few that I like.

The background pattern of the card uses a stamp that I found at Hobby Lobby. I then used my stickles to add some little dots to sparkle it up a bit. Also used the stickles on the fire of the sparkler. The sentiment "the 4th of July" is from some clear stamps that I found in the dollar spot of Michaels.

Well, I have ripped my ACL..so that means surgery. Right now I'm going to physical therapy and then I will see my doctor the first part of July. I am going to see if its ok to hold off on my surgery until after Labor Day. I really don't want to be cooped up for my summer.

Which is why you wont always see a post every day...we go camping twice a month about 150 miles from here. Our family lives there and we love to go camp and hang out with the family. Its always lots of fun.

We also have our pool all set up and ready to go. The water is warm and I have been swimming in there already. The weather hasn't been all that great, so haven't been in as much as I would like. Swam in there today and even layed out a while.

I took a beading class over the weekend and I love it. I made some bracelets this evening and tomorrow I need to work on a few more. I don't want to forget what I learned. Hobby Lobby had a bunch of their jewelry 50 percent off, so I went there this morning and got a lot of goodies to make more jewelry.

Something's Fishy

I got this newest die cut from Archivers the other day when I went in to find the 4th of July dies that were out. I couldn't resist this fish. Wasn't sure what I was going to do with him or her, but I knew I wanted it.

I first stamped my background using TAC sets in my clear embossing ink pad and then put the stamp directly onto the colored ink pad...added clear embossing powder.

The letters are stickers. Put them onto a punched circle and mounted them with a pop dot. Added stickles to the fishes fins and added some diamond sparkle for the bubbles.

The sentiment is from a clear stamp set that I had bought at Michales in the dollar bin.

Well, the results from my MRI show that I ripped my ACL...I was actually shocked cause I in no way thought that it was that serious. Im going to physical therapy right now and then will have surgery to repair the ACL in the fall.

Its Your Day

Thought this one might make a nice birthday card for one of my girlfriends or maybe sister in laws..who knows. How cool would it be to open this up and find a spa certificate inside? I think I would love that!

I colored with Copics and Prismascolor markers. Paper is from TAC. Found a ribbon and flowers in my embellishments stash.

Sorry I haven't posted anything since the last of May..went to Omaha last weekend in May and have been busy ever since I got home. I don't think it ever ends.

Tomorrow I go see my doctor to find out the MRI results on my knee that I messed up in April. Yes, I have waited all this time to go see what is wrong with it....I just hate the thought of having knee surgery....hopefully it wont be too complicated. The doctor thought that maybe it was some cartilage damage, so we will see tomorrow.

4th of July Bear

I know its a tad bit early for a 4th of July card, but this is what I came across first in my cards folder.

This little bear Ive had for quite awhile..I don't even remember where I got it, but I do love this little guy.

The background of my card was first stamped with a set that I got from the Michael's one dollar spot. I stamped in blue and red. After that I went through my pattern paper and came across the 4th of July paper I used on the bottom half of my card. I was also lucky and found a ribbon that had the 4th of July colors in it. It was a lucky day for bringing my card all together with the supplies I had on hand.

I colored my little bear with Prismacolor Markers and Sharpies. Cut him out with my circle punch and then used my Spellbinders to make my scallop mat. Lastly I added the sentiment "the 4th of July" and cut it out using my star punch.

Pretty simple to put together once you find all the supplies you want to use.

In My Thoughts

Here is a stamp that I haven't used in quite awhile. Sometimes I need to remember to go through my stamps and see what I have that I had forgotten about. I love this little girl. She has so many possibilities as far as cards go. Birthdays, Thinking Of You, Get Well, and on and on. I especially love the way she is holding the little bird...actually I made mine chickens..haha.

I made my background by stamping the blue flowers all over my card. Ive been trying to do some backgrounds with my stamps instead of always turning to pattern paper.

I colored my little girl with Copics and Prismacolor markers. The ribbon and paper are from Papertrey Ink

The sentiment "In my thoughts" came from one of my clear stamp sets that I bought from Michael's one dollar spot.

Last, I used my Nestabilities Dies to cut around my image and stamped some more flowers on the side.

Vibrant Butterfly

I really like how this card turned out. I love the bright colors. I stamped the upper half of the card with stamps and then used some of my pretty decorative paper on the bottom. Matted my butterfly on green and orange cardstock. I stamped the butterfly image in the blue and then colored the outside of the butterfly with one of my green Prismacolor markers.

Today was nice and warm here. Middle 80's. I actually turned the air on today since something in the air is really bothering me right now. Seems as I get older my allergies get worse. Its bad enough my eyes are getting worse, now allergies bugging me...I hate to think whats next....actually I'm not gonna think that cause I probably don't wanna know..haha.

Pam...I do hope you get a chance to pamper yourself soon dear. Maybe this weekend?

Relax

I think I might use this card as a Birthday card. Seems like one should relax on their Birthday. I'm sure it could be used for many other things, but I always have tons of Birthday cards to send out..so this one works for me.

The pattern paper is TAC (The Angel Company) Added some cute pink flowers and colored with PrismacolorCopics.

Speaking of Copics, I just got three more yummy colors today in the mail. They are all in the pink family. Hopefully I will get a chance to play with them tomorrow.

Ive been busy planting Hostas and flowers the last couple of days. Thought that while it was nice and sunny outside and no rain in sight, it would be a good time to get them planted. Of course I bought some more flowers today, so will need to get those planted probably tomorrow.

I finished a wedding scrapbook that I was working on. I am going to take some pictures of it tomorrow out in my sunroom, so maybe I will post some of the pictures here so you can see. I design these scrapbooks for whoever gets them to just add their pictures. Pretty easy. Plus if people don't scrapbook or don't have the time, they don't need to worry, its done for them.

Elephant Baby

This image could pretty much be made into any kind of card...I needed a baby card, so that's what I made mine into.

I collect elephants, so any elephant stamp I see, I'm probably gonna get it.

Card was very simple to put together. Colored with Copics and Prismacolor markers. Two mats for the image. Decorative paper was in my stash.

That's about it...I love to make simple cards every now and again...lol

Birthday Elephant

Thought this little guy was too cute. I paper pieced the balloons and hat with the pattern paper I used on the card. The sentiment "happy birthday" came with the same set as the elephant.

I colored my elephant with copic markers. Stamped the two presents at the bottom of the card onto the pattern paper and cut them out.

I might try my hand at this image again with different pattern paper and add something a bit more...not sure why, but this card seems plain to me. Maybe if I had added some ribbon..who knows...I'm sure you will see this little guy again with a new color scheme...lol

Hope all you mothers out there had a wonderful Mothers Day. My day was great. My family took me to brunch and then we just spent the rest of the day relaxing.

This paper pack is becoming one of my favs so far. I love the vibrant colors. They remind me of summer.

I colored my bird with Copics and Prismacolor markers and used stickles on the birds wing and tail.

I'm not sure what the little bird told me yet, so I will have to add something on the inside of the card when I figure that out.

I have created three new cards that need to be photographed yet.

Yesterday was spent printing out tons of pictures that I have had on my laptop for over a year. I don't know how I got so backed up. I really shouldn't do that since my photo printers ink is not cheap. Not to mention there are like 7 or 8 cartridges...yikes.

Anyway, its a beautiful day here today..sun is out and it warm, but not too warm. I'm taking my youngest to a movie soon, so better scoot.

Do Nothing

Ok, I'm on a roll now....I do not want to jinx myself, so onto my card. This is a Close To My Heart set called Do Nothing. Believe it or not, I have had this set for quiet awhile and this is the first time I have used it. Shameless I know. Sometimes I think I have way too many stamps and just forget about what I have...does that make me not buy anymore? No of course not..LOL

Ok, I colored my gal with Prismacolor markers. Decorative paper is from a stack I got at JoAnn Fabric...I believe its called Citrus...I love the vibrant colors in this paper stack. Its very summery. I found some orange rik rak ribbon in my stash and thought it went perfect with my paper. I used my Stampin Up tag punch and added the flip flops and the "Its your day" which is The Angel Company....I myself cannot wait until I'm outside relaxing while reading a book. Now if the weather would just cooperate, it would be awesome.

Dinosaur Birthday

Here is a cute little card I did for a child's birthday. The dinosaur is a Quikutz die that I got at Archivers. I love how the die comes with everything you need...like the circles. It makes it easy to decorate your diecut...not like some dies where you must paper piece a bunch of stuff together.

I stamped the green and blue circles onto my card base and then added a strip of decorative paper...paper came from a paper pack bought at Michaels.

I took a trip to Archivers last week and purchased a few more dies...now I'm hooked on these things. And I managed to use them in my Big Shot machine....I was checking out a You Tube video on die cutting machines and saw one on how to use different dies in your Big Shot....it was an aahh ha moment...LOL

Been Awhile

I know its been awhile, but I finally got some cards done today. I spent most of the day going through my images and papers and had a good time.

I wasn't sure what to put on this card...I could of used something I saw with this card on someones blog, but I decided to just add the "Your Fabulous" Figured I could send this card out for almost any occasion.

Colored with Prismacolor and Copic markers. Paper is from a pad I got at Michaels..think its called Little Fellow, or something like that.

I finished this card just yesterday after it sitting on my desk for almost a month waiting for me to work on..haha.

Ive been lazy about doing anything creative for a while it seems. Not sure why. I know as summer gets here I for sure will not want to play as much. Hopefully I will be out in my pool. Not to mention my youngest son still needs 41 more hours of driving to do...aarrgg!

Anyway, simple card..colored her with Prismacolor markers and Sharpies. I used my Fiskars scallop punch on my pink cardstock and the paper was in my scraps basket..the never ending scrap basket.

Matted her in two different colors...pink and brown. That's it.

I have a few new cards I did but need to retake the pictures. I took them at night and the light is terrible. Couldn't even manage to fix it in Photoshop so will post those when they are ready.

It was a beautiful day here today....might of hit 70, but not sure. Tomorrow and Saturday are suppose to be 80...that's a bit warm, but I will take it compared to the cold weather we have had in the last couple of weeks.

House Mouse Easter

I love to order the House Mouse monthly stamps. I love how the sentiment is always with the stamp that you purchase so it makes it easy to put a card together. Lately Ive gotten lazy about my cards. I am trying to go more towards simple.

I just colored my image with Prismacolor markers and Sharpies.

Matted my main image and used an embossed white sheet of cardstock that I got back in a swap that I joined. Pretty easy to put together.

I have a new House Mouse baby stamp that I just purchased not long ago..I will post that one next.

New Pink Cat Studio

How cute are these two baby cards? I saw this newest set from Pink Cat Studio and knew I had to buy it. I do a lot of baby cards for my church and to go along with my custom baby scrapbook albums that I do for people. I used my Prismacolor markers to color my images and the baby in green, I paper pieced his shirt. I stamped the bee onto his shirt since the diaper was the same shade of green as the shirt. I did forgot to color in the little bee on the the cowboy baby card, but I can always do that before it is sent out.

Bridal Shower Card

I know you have all seen this one before, but I thought I would share this card that I just finished for a special order. I was contact by someone who found me on Etsy and she wanted me to design 40 bridal invitations for her. She sent me a picture of the china that was going to be used at the shower and I went from there. Having no pattern paper that had the colors from the china in it or even the design, I decided to make my own. I used a TAC set for the background. I must of stamped 10-15 sheets of this background paper and then I had to color it all in. Whew, that was a big job. I then decided to glam her up with paper piecing to her dress, which was also the background paper.

I colored everything else with Prismacolor markers and added some shimmery silver ribbon on the side.

All in all, I think the cards turned out pretty good. It was a big job, but I loved it. I never knew I liked to design something from a china pattern so much..LOL

Two New Cards

Two new cards that I completed probably about a month ago and Im now just getting them posted. Due to everything that has gone on, I have neglected you all. The images are digital downloads that I got from Pink Petticoat...I absolutely love these. Takes no space in my craft room and I can just print them as I need them.

The card on the left is pretty simple....just pattern paper, regular cardstock and some ribbon on the side. Each image is colored with Prismacolor markers.

The card on the right is the same except I added stickles on her boa and my scallop punch as a decorative border on the pattern paper...which is from TAC.

In Memory

This is a sad post to write...my mom passed away on February 18th after her Alzheimer's just got the best of her. She was only 67 years young. She was full of life and I will miss her terribly.
She had gone downhill quite a bit when I saw her in November. Raymond (in the chair) who is her second husband had been caring for her and it got to be too much. He put her into a home down in Florida and I believe she just gave up after that. My brother and I flew down to Florida to see where she was at and the place was very nice. I was surprised. Hospice came in and was caring for her 24/7 since this place was not for anyone in advanced stages of Alzheimer's. When it was clear that my mom would not get better, hospice moved her to their care center. I was home for two days and then my husband and I drove down to Florida to be with her. I left on a Tuesday and she passed away on Wednesday night. I can only take comfort in the fact that she is now at peace with my father.

Its hard to believe that I have no parents anymore. Sometimes it does not seem real to me. Most days I do ok if I keep busy and don't think about things too much.

Anyway, I thought you all should know why I have not been around. I will get back to posting my newest cards and things when I'm up to it. So, please hang in there with me.

Stampin Up Valentine

Here is another valentine card I made the other day. This one features the new Stampin Up set that I just got. I think its called the bundle of love..or something like that. I got the papers, stamps, and punch with the set. I love, love the punch. It gives you three different heart sizes and its very sharp. Punches through the textured papers with no problems. I used my scallop circle punch and my round punch on the card also.

I added some white dots around my hearts at the top with my gelly roll pen. The big heart in the center was paper pieced with the decorative paper that came with the set.

Added some ink around the scallop edge and some red ribbon and that's it. Pretty easy to put together. Maybe I might actually get some valentines sent out this year...I always seem to forget.

Before I start with my cards...does anyone know how to remove that header on my blog? I have tried and tried and no luck. I switched to a different background and now I'm stuck with the header of my old background.

Ok, first card...this is pretty cool...I was reading someones blog who mentioned that she downloaded some digi stamps..I have heard about digi scrapbooking things, but stamps? So, I checked it out..sure enough, you can buy digi stamps. Its actually kinda neat...I can buy digi stamps that will be on my computer forever and just print more out as I need them. Plus, I don't have to worry about storage..hows that for cool? If you want to check it out, here is the place..Pink Petticoat.

The little paper hearts on the card are from a new Stampin Up punch that I just purchased.

My next card is a retired stamp set from TAC. I used some more of my punched hearts on this card also. I don't think Ive made many cards with this set, so I thought I better get it out and dust it off..haha.

I thought I would give you two cards today...they are the same image but with different sentiments.

This is one of my newest Bella stamps. I am addicted to coffee so this is very fitting for me.

I colored my image with Prismacolor markers and Sharpies.

I used my Fiskars scallop punch on the edge of my pattern paper.

Pretty basic card to put together. I did get some Valentine cards done today, which I will post as soon as I have taken pictures and edited in Photoshop.....see you soon.....

This sentiment totally cracks me up. I found it while looking around at RubberNecker and couldn't resist buying it. The drinks pattern paper is something that I downloaded from a forum I use to go to. I need to figure out if I can change the color of it somehow. I downloaded it in green, but other colors would be nice too.

Colored my Bella with Prismacolor markers and BIC markers. Those tiny little sandles on her feet are impossible to color with my Prismacolor markers.

I finished some cards with the new Bellas that I have ordered and all I need to do is take some pictures of them. I will do that today and hopefully I will have a new Bella for you tomorrow.

We are in a deep freeze for the remainder of this week. I actually have to go out later today, which Im not looking forward to.

Glamour Girl

Another awesome stamp that I got from Rubbernecker stamps...I paper pieced my image with the background paper that I used on my card. I tend to go towards pinks, purples, and sometimes blues, so I'm trying to do cards in other colors besides my norm. I'm not sure where I got the sentiment "What's life without a little glamour!" but I love, love, love it. It fits the card so well. The rest of my images was colored with my Prismacolor markers. I did add some stickles to her shoes, shawl, and hat ribbon. The corners of the matted image and sentiment were punched with my Stampin Up punch.

Saw two movies this weekend...Friday night I saw "Bride Wars" very funny and I enjoyed it a lot. Its a great movie to take your girlfriends to. I happened to go with one of my girlfriends and we took her daughter and two of her friends...they all enjoyed it.

Second movie I saw was "Gran Torino" This was also a good movie. Clint Eastwood was spectacular in this movie. I went to this one with my hubby and two other couples from church.

Our furnace decided to break on Saturday or maybe Friday night sometime....should be fixed tomorrow sometime..thank goodness.

Over all my weekend was ok....other than a few family issues I'm dealing with.

I got some new Bella's and will be getting some cards done and posted for you.

Here is a cute card I made tonight along with many others..this card and more are for sale on my Etsy site if you are interested.

I colored her with Primacolor markers, added some "drink" decorative paper that I printed out. I found a cool green ribbon to add to the center of the card. I think the saying is the best part of this card...I got this sentiment from Rubbernecker...along with a few more cute sentiments and more glamour ladies.

Ive been working hard on making cards for you all to see...but life does tend to get in the way at times, so I might not be able to post every single day...but as time allows I will show you all my new cards that I have worked hard on.

SImple TAC Card

Im all about simple when I can actually pull it off. I love simple...problem is..I cant seem to do simple. I have this thing with thinking that the card always needs "more" Its crazy I know and I am going to work at making simple cards this next new year. I got this magazine at the store the other day and the whole magazine is filled with simple cards...just what I need. Sometimes I think I get way too burned out when making my cards cause it takes forever.

This set is from TAC...didnt do much to this except stamp the snowflakes on the cardstock and then stamped the tree. Added the "thank you" and put a ribbon around it. I used my Stampin Up ticket punch also. Added a blue contrasting ribbon to seperate my two colors on the background.

On a good note, I also completed a 8x8 scrapbook album today. Its for a friend who wanted a baby album but it had to work for either a boy or girl. All I need to do is go buy an album to put all the pages in and I can give it to her when I see her.

Its been raining here since yesterday. All the snow is almost gone from my yard. We must of had at least 18 inches of snow on the ground. The poor sump pump downstairs has been working hard.

Another Glam Lady

Yet another glamorous lady for you. She would of made a good Christmas card for the right person. Not for everyone on my list though..haha

I colored her with Prismacolor markers and used stickles on her hat, dress collar and the bottom of her dress. I really like the colors I chose for this one. Very luxurious. Anytime you pair burgundy with gray, you cant go wrong in my opinion.

I also put ribbon and flowers on the side of the card. The flowers have a small heart brad for the center.

Anyway, hope you all had a good Christmas.

I had a wee little accident and will be off my feet for a bit...nothing major, but I cant get my shoe on very well. So that does cut down on my running around...hopefully I can use this opportunity to create more.

I received more of these lovely ladies, so will be making more cards in the weeks to come.

New Stamps

I saw these glamorous ladies on someones blog and I just had to get some. I just ordered more today. I bought them at Rubbernecker, which you can follow this link and find the glamor ladies.

I'm hoping I can get back on track again soon. I know I have been a terrible blogger. I cant seem to get back into the groove again. I was going through my email yesterday and I came across a blog that I follow that told of a fellow friend and blogger had passed away...so I went and checked out her blog. She died of a massive heart attack. She had just posted the day before she passed away. It reminds me that life is short. You never know when you or someone you love will just be gone one day. You would think that I would know this first hand since my dad died of a massive heart attack...he was here one day and gone the next. So take the time to tell that special someone in your life how much you appreciate them or value their friendship.

Ok, on to my card....Her name is Monique. I love this dress..which seeing the dress made me think that the paper I used had to be special. I went through my glimmer paper and sure enough, I had some wonderful silver paper left over from my Christmas cards. I also had some silver ribbon, so that made it complete. I colored my image with Prismacolor markers. Used Frosted Lace Stickles on the points of the dress. Added a little sparkle to it. I also added some rose colored cardstock for the matting.

Bad blogger

Yes, I'm a bad blogger...what can I say? I was doing so well and then the holidays came and I was busy. Still busy, but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I do need to finish up my Christmas cards and get them out in the mail..then I think I will breath a bit easier.

Here is a new stamp set that I got from Splendid Little Company

I have many more sets added to my wish list, so after the holidays, I will need to do some shopping.

I colored my birds with Prismacolor markers and added stickles to my bow and the girl birds hat. I also stamped my background with the poinsettia from the stamp set. I really like how this card turned out. Its very festive.

I must cut this short...I just got home from this wine tasting, six course dinner and I feel like a stuffed turkey. Its terrible...but the food was awesome. There was only one wine that I didn't like. I'm not a big fan of red wines..they seem way to dry and robust to me. Although, I did drink one red wine tonight and it was ok. I cant wait for another dinner/wine tasting..this was the first one I have been to and it was totally worth the money I paid for it. I went with a girlfriend of mine.

House Mouse Cuteness

I cant remember which month this House Mouse is from, but I thought this was so cute. I actually made a few of these in different colors. Pretty basic card..colored with Prismacolor markers and decorative paper is from my ever growing stash of paper. What does one do with so much paper anyway? And why does it never seem to get any smaller? Its a mystery.

Well, our church sale is this weekend. I have worked non stop for two weeks trying to get all this done. Tonight I got all the cards into clear jackets and I have some tags made up for the prices to be listed. I will be glad when this is over.

Then I have to have my family Christmas next weekend. Talk about having to rush to get your shopping done...LOL....its gonna work out good though. My mom and her husband are coming back from Florida for Thanksgiving so we thought this would be a perfect time to do Christmas since they will not be around in December. Then three weeks after that, I have my husbands family Christmas...it never stops..lol

Friday night I'm going out..maybe I can de-stress myself....cross your fingers.

A Few More Cards For You

Ok, I'm on a roll now...this is the second day I am posting new cards....but I better be quiet or I will jinx myself..lol

This first card is a stamp set that I picked up at JoAnn Fabrics one day while I was strolling the store looking for awesome things to buy. I colored the cupcakes with Prismacolor markers and the tops of the cupcakes are pearl ex powders with some beads on top. I think they turned out pretty yummy looking.

Second card is another owl from Pink Cat. I bought this set awhile ago and love every single image and sentiment that goes along with the set. I was thinking of adding "You are, that's whooo" to the inside of the card. Kinda catchy. I did a bunch of these for kids cards and I did them in different sports colors. Thought the boys might like them.

First card is from Pink Cat Studio...love this little owl. Colored with Prismacolor markers and I added Stickles on the two flowers.

Second is a cute little pink bag that I decorated for our stamp sale at church coming up soon. Bags seem to be a big hit with everyone at church. I also made some cute snowmen bags, which I will show you another time.

Third card is my newest House Mouse stamp of the month. Gonna send these out to family and friends for Thanksgiving...that pie looks oh so yummy!

Yes, I have neglected you all and I'm so sorry. Life has a way of getting in my way at times. I have been way busy doing cards for our upcoming sale at my church. Since I took over the group I have realized that there is tons of work that go along with this position. Craziness is all I can say..LOL

I will try to get some pictures tomorrow for you so at least you can see what I have been doing. In one day I made 24 Christmas cards...does that tell you how insane things are?

Congratulations

Ive been working on lots of things, but no pics yet. This is the time of the year where its crazy for me. As the leader of our stamp group at church, I must get things ready for our up coming sale in November. We meet this Thursday night to hopefully finish projects up and then we need to get everything priced. Its quite a job, but its fun and any money we make goes to lots of organizations at our church or community. So, its a good thing....oh gosh, that sounds like Martha....sigh.

So, Im showing you this card that I made for a girlfriends daughter who recently got engaged. Pretty simple card to make...just colored her dress and added stickles on her diamond. I then used my white gel pen and did the stitching around the matted image. Paper was some I found in my stash of decorative papers.

I will try to get some pictures of things that I have been working on in the next week. I think one of the things I am doing this year will be a big hit...hopefully.

Fall Card

As promised here is the fall card that I did and never got a picture of until yesterday. I colored my image with Prismacolor markers and BIC markers. The base of the card has the dark brown and the pattern paper. From there I attached the pumpkin color cardstock and on top of that the green.

I cut out my image and just glued it on the card and attached my sentiment, which is retired from The Angel Company.

I might have another fall card in the works for you. I have some images all ready stamped and they just need to be colored and put onto a card. So stay tuned.

Sympathy Card

I don't make many sympathy cards but I was in need of one, so I got out this newest set (Rose Garden) from the current catalog from The Angel Company.

I loved how this turned out. I am never sure about colors. This card is for a girl at our church that just lost her mother to MS and her father is in poor health.

The card is pretty basic. I used Palette inks (The Angel Company) and just stamped my images on the card base. I added the rose in the center and matted it with some coordinating cardstock. I tied a sheer piece of ribbon around the rose base and stamped the sentiment straight on the decorative paper.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the final card. I did stamp the rose that is on the outside onto the inside of the card also with a verse.

Perfect Package

Would you believe I haven't created anything new for a week or more? Well, its true and I really need to get back into the swing of things. Ive been dealing with some family stuff and it hasn't left me much time. But I have that all taken care of so I should be back to creating in the next few days. I still have that darn fall card to show you....gotta get a picture taken of it yet...sigh.

Anyway, onto this card. This is Great Impression stamp. I love how the kitty is looking around the package. I colored with my Prismacolor markers. Pattern paper came in one of my scrapbook kits, which I love btw. I have almost used all of it so maybe I can re-create it with stamps. Added a coordinating ribbon to both sides of the pattern paper and added the sentiment at the top along with stickles on the package ribbon. Turned out kinda cute.

Today was a busy day. I went to lunch with my oldest son and then took him to get new shoes...boy was that expensive...lol. Both kids had to go to the dentist and then off to the Olive Garden for dinner..yummy.

Tomorrow is bowling with my youngest son and then I think I might be able to squeeze a card to share and take that darn picture of my fall card before fall is over..haha.

Here is a card I actually forgot that I made. I started by picking out my pattern paper and then finding colors that matched. I believe I used my Tombo markers for this one. Sometimes if I stamp my image with a different ink, my Prismacolor markers actually blur when coloring. I found some ribbon in my ribbon stash and added it to the side of the card. The sentiment "do I need a reason to write" is TAC

Sorry I have not been posting much these days. I just finished up a scrapbook for a friend. Scrapbooks really take a lot of my time, but they are so worth it. I love making scrapbooks for gifts.

I still have a fall card to share with you, which will be my next post.

Other than making scrapbooks, I have been busy trying to finish a book that I'm reading so I can start the book for my book group at church.

Omaha Zoo

Just a few pics of my trip to the Omaha Zoo over the weekend. I went to visit my brother and family and to see my nephew play in his football game. He did an awesome job. Even made a tackle so the player wouldn't make a touch down. It was a short trip, but we packed in a lot of things on Sunday. Church, football game, and then the zoo. Cant wait to go back again when I can stay a bit longer. We had a great weekend.

Another great image from Great Impressions. I love this little guy. I don't know if Ive seen a Halloween stamp with a bee before. I'm sure they are out there, but I personally haven't seen one.

I stamped my bee and then punched him or her out with my scallop oval. I colored with my Prismacolor markers and added some yellow stickles to the wings. I was going to use diamond stickles, but then thought, why not add the yellow. I added some orange dots around my scallop to match my spiders and ribbon. The paper is TAC, which came as an 8 x 8 paper pack.

I just did a fall card that I will be taking pictures of today and be sure to get it posted asap.

I'm sitting here watching Oprah waiting for the latest book club selection and who should break into the tv? President Bush...aarrggg....now I have totally missed the last 15 minutes of Oprah...pouting now. I know, the President is more important than a book selection, but I so look forward to this each month....tsk, tsk. Good thing for me though, since I live here by Chicago, Oprah airs again tonight at 11:00 after nightline...whew...LOL

Halloween Kitty

This was another fun card to put together. Both images (kitty in pumpkin and spider) are Great Impressions. The sentiment "Boo" is from Stampin Up...long time retired.

The paper I used is part of a paper pack from TAC.

All I did to create this cute card was to stamp my images and color with Prismacolor markers. I punched out my spider with a circle punch and then punched a scallop circle. Added dots to the scallop circle and then stamped "Boo" directly onto the card.

Thats it...pretty simple huh?

Here is one of the many Halloween cards that I finally got done over the weekend. The spider image is Great Impressions and the Happy Halloween is CTMH (Close To My Heart) and the spider web image is one that I got either at Hobby Lobby or Michaels over a year ago.

I first stamped a piece of black card stock with the spider web image in white ink. Let that dry while I stamped my little spider three times on white card stock and then used my circle punch to punch them out. Next I found a scalloped circle punch and punched out three circles of black card stock. I added dots to the black with my white gelly roll pen. Really made the black pop. The pattern paper is from TAC (The Angel Company) I'm not sure if it is retired or not...I got this many years ago. If anyone is interested, I will find out for you. Stamped the "Happy Halloween" and found some green card stock in my stash that would match the pattern paper the best. For the final touch, I added the green ribbon in the middle. This is some ribbon I got in one of my scrapbook kits I get delivered once a month.

Let's Have Coffee

I'm not sure if this is a new card to you all or not, but I thought I would post it anyway. I'm always looking for coffee stamps. Must have something to do with me being a coffee addict..haha

Anyway, I colored this with my Prismacolors and Bic markers. The beans I stamped separately and then cut them out and put on my card with a pop dot.

Not too sure I like the pink that I used to color on the cups, but I wanted to match the paper as best I could.

Ive been so busy these days and haven't really had time to create anything new. I am working on some Halloween cards. I have noticed a lot of blogs are posting Halloween cards and other projects already. I don't even wanna think about Halloween cause that means colder weather..yuk.

Simple Card

Well, I'm finally back from my camping vacation and we had a great time. My best friend in the world camped with us along with her Aunt and Uncle and my Mom and Raymond. I love to visit family and friends as much as I can.

I made one card today. The stamp set I got at Benjamin Franklin, back in the Quad Cities. I love that store. They have so many scrap booking and rubber stamping goodies, its hard not to spend all of my money. This set was a dollar and its clear. Got a great image when stamping it for the first time, so I was happy I got it. Of course it was only a dollar. But I did like it enough to buy it, so I would of been disappointed had I not got a good image.

Its good to be home, but now I'm playing catch up with all the things that were left for a week. Laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning, you get the gist I'm sure.

Rained all day today which was great. Our grass and plants were so dry. I'm glad we got a good soaking.

Ok, Im finally getting this Pink Cat Studio card posted. Ive been sick and then played catch up with house stuff. Today I was gone most of the day....crazy.

I'm not gonna say too much about this, cause I'm tired and need to go to bed.

I colored this with my Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits...shocking..I didn't use Prismacolor markers..haha

I added the three paper flowers at the bottom with brads in the center. That's about it.

Another Sarah Kay Card

Another cute stamp from Sarah Kay. These stamps are just the cutest stamps that Ive seen around. I especially love the ones where the little girl is talking or holding the animals. I am a dog lover, so I especially love this one..haha.

Colored with Prismacolor markers and Stampin Up markers. The flowers at the bottom are some paper flowers that I found in my flower stash. Seems I have a lot of stashes, don't it? You know they say a crafter saves everything, well, I think they are right. I hate to even toss a piece of scrap paper if I can get one more thing out of it.

I have finished up my baby girl scrapbook that I was working on. I will be taking pictures of it tomorrow and then I will have it up for sale on my Etsy shop. These albums are great for the new mom...all she has to do is add the picture, that's it. Everything else is done for her. I sell a lot of these to ladies at my church....ok, enough of the shameless plug..haha

I will have a new card to share with you tomorrow from Pink Cat Studio..I got a new set and have yet to ink it except for one of the sentiments.

Sideshow Stamps-Retro Owl

Another one of my newest stamps from Sideshow Stamps. I absolutely love this stamp company. I like the fact that they are something I have not seen anywhere else. I'm always looking for new and interesting stamps.

I used decorative papers and Prismacolor markers to color in my owl. I thought about doing a paper piecing of this owl, but decided to color instead. Next time I will do one with paper piecing.

I must admit that I copied the "dots" around the border..this is all the rage right now, so had to try it. Its kinda hard to keep them all the same size and spaced equally, but then if it was perfect, a machine would of created this and not a person. That's why I think there are no mistakes in art.

My sentiment is Pink Cat Studio...I just ordered the set that this sentiment comes from but have yet to make anything with the stamps....I know...terrible...lol My goal this weekend is to not create anything. I'm taking a break and lounging in my pool all weekend long. Back to creating things on Monday. I will continue to post to my blog though, so don't worry...if you were worried of course..hehe

I'm finally able to show you a card I made with one of my newest Sarah Kay stamps. I have this for sale on my Etsy shop along with others that are new. I really like this stamp...the little girl looks like she might be trying to kiss the little bird or maybe she is talking to it...whatever she is doing, its too cute.

The decorative paper came in one of my Memory Makers kits. I love all the goodies that come in their kits every month. Its like Christmas each month that I get one. Which you can check out the latest one for this month here

I used some ribbon and one of the paper flowers that came with the kit. The jewel brad came from my stash of embellishments.

Colored my image with my Prismacolor markers.

TAC Flamingo

I know, I'm such a bad blogger these days. I just finished up this huge order I had for a charity event, so now I can get back to making new things for you all to see.

This set is probably one of my favorites for now. I love this flamingo. She has such attitude. I colored her with my Bic markers and used stickles for her boa. Also added stickles to her shoes. The flower is done with punches.

This stamps is TAC.

Hope you are all enjoying the Olympics. I'm hooked each night. I just love watching the swimming. My Grandma use to say that I was like a fish...I never wanted to get out of the water. I still love the water but I don't have a big enough pool to actually do laps, so I pretty much just lounge on my float..haha.

My Newest Find

I was on a forum not long ago and someone mentioned this stamps company...Sideshow Stamps

So, I thought I would go check it out...they have some of the coolest stamps I have seen. They are very unique and I have not seen anything out there in cyberland like these.

I ordered five new stamps after I took a look around and they are FAST when it comes to shipping...I was amazed. This company ROCKS!!

This is one of the images I ordered. I just threw her together tonight...she needs a sentiment or something, but I wanted to show you this new stamp I bought. I plan on ordering more soon.

For this card I colored with my Prismacolor markers. I bought this pattern paper at Hobby Lobby last week to use on another project. Added some red cardstock at the bottom of the card and layered a piece of torn black cardstock on top of that. Add to that a white ribbon. I added the dots around the mated image. I have seen these little dots everywhere these days, so thought I would try it out. I need practice..lol.

Its been a stormy night here tonight. I woke up to thunder and rain..thought it was done this afternoon..guess not.

Lily And Milo

I finally got to make a card with this newest stamp from Lily And Milo. I had it sitting on my desk for days and days before I inked it up....gasp!

I used my Prismacolor markers, Sharpies, and Bic markers for this card. I picked out the colors that matched the pattern paper the best. Added some stickles to Lily's dress, flowers, and those little star things...I have no idea what those are called..lol

I added some brown ribbon on the side and two flowers in the corners.

I wasn't sure what to use as a sentiment on this one. So, I found "love" and thought this could be used as an anniversary or valentines card. I suppose it could be used as a friendship card also.

Its been super hot here lately. I have been busy working on a huge order and managed to finish another baby book for a lady at my church.

Great Impression Furry Friends

These two little furry friends are too cute. This image is from Great Impression and I just listed this card on my new Etsy shop. The inside of the card reads: Dibs on your organs!

Ok, I know, it is kinda mean, but if you were to send it to the right person, it would be funny. This is a card I could send to my best friend and she would think it was too funny. Thats the great thing about friends.

Nothing too special about this card. Pattern paper was from my stash, I used my perfect layers for the layers around the original tag.

I also used my scallop oval for the front sentiment.

SU Birthday

Its been a long, long time since I have used this Stampin Up set. I love the little dog that goes with this set, but decided to make this card with the packages since I knew I wanted to make a birthday card. The sentiments "just because and it's your birthday" come from TAC.

I started by picking out my pattern paper. Ive been using this paper a lot these days I know. I usually will pick a paper and then make several cards or projects with it until its gone.

Once I had my paper picked out, I then colored with Prismacolor and Bic markers. I added some stickles to the packages to give them some sparkle.

This cute little stamp is from Great Impressions. I just received this stamp about a week ago and finally got to play with it. I colored with Prismacolor markers and Bic markers. I used some crystal lacquer on the centers of the flowers and around the circle scallop. I also added some green ribbon at the top and bottom of the pattern paper, which is some of my favorite this summer. I love the bright colors. I think pink and green are one of my favorite color combinations.

The sentiment "Just Because" is from TAC

TAC Flamingo And Pink Cat

I love this flamingo set from TAC. I colored my flamingo with BIC and Sharpies. I paper pieced her boa and added stickles to her feathers. The sentiment "There Can Only Be One Queen And I'm It." Cracks me up. I often tell the boys in my family that I'm the Queen, so when I saw this stamp, I had to have it.

The pattern paper is from my stash.

My next card is from Pink Cat Studio. I just love these two ladies sitting on the beach with their drinks just chillin out. For these ladies I colored with BiC, Sharpies, and Prismacolor markers. I added some stickles and some crystal lacquer to the flowers on their bathing suits and to the flowers on the hats. This is what I love to do in the summer time....chill at the pool. Ideally I would rather be at the beach under a palm tree, but I live in Illinois, so no palm tree's here. Unless I want a fake one..haha

House Mouse-Showering You With Love

I can now show you this latest House Mouse card I did. I had to wait since it was a monthly RAK...didn't want them seeing what I did for them before they got it in the mail....awkward..lol

I love this flower pattern paper that I got in one of my scrapbook kits from Memory Makers. I couldn't really tell if the color was red or pink. The red worked ok when coloring my image. I used my big corner rounder and then inked the edges. The water coming from the water can is done with stickles and the raindrops I used Crystal Lacquer. Added a flower in the center of the "Love" and a dot of stickles in the center.

I am working on lots of cards for the boutique I sell at, so I will take pictures when I'm done.

5th Of July Parade

Today I'm giving you some pictures that I took today at the parade. Our church had a float in the parade. This was the first year that I have gone. I really enjoyed it. There were some pretty cool things that I had never seen before...one being the lawn chair guys...that was pretty funny. The parade was 2 hours and I'm fried. I didn't think I would need any sunscreen since I already had a nice base tan...wrong....now instead of laying in my pool tomorrow...I think I might stay inside..haha. Anyway, enjoy and I hope you all had a great 4th of July.

This is a card that I made for my Niece's birthday. I got this image from an image swap that I joined. I love this stamp and I'm gonna have to order it with my next order. I picked out the paper that I wanted to use first. I believe this is some pattern paper that came with a kit that I got not long ago. I next picked out my Prismacolor markers that matched pretty well with the paper. The sentiment is part of a TAC set. I really like how this one turned out. Hopefully I can order this stamp soon.

Its been a very busy week for me. I spent all of last week getting ready for my oldest sons graduation party. Now its on to college for him in August. He will be going to a local college for two years than transferring into a university.

My brother and family are in town and yesterday we spent the day at the Science and Industry Museum. It was a lot of fun. I went to the smart home exhibit which I really enjoyed. I learned quite a bit yesterday.

The taste of Chicago is going on also this week. It looked pretty busy when we drove by yesterday. My oldest has been wanting to go to that for quite a long time and we thought about going yesterday after the museum, but it looked like it was gonna rain and sure enough, it did. Maybe sometime between now and when it closes we can take him to the taste. We ended our day yesterday with an awesome dinner at Bob Chinns. Yummy!!! It was a very long and fun day.
Today I plan on lounging in my pool all afternoon. I need to re-cooperate from yesterday..lol.

This is another image I got from an image swap. I really love these image swaps, but then I always want to order the stamp so I can make more.....sigh.

I colored her with Prismacolor markers and Bic markers. Background paper comes from my scraps stash. I added some stickles on the bottom of her dress to give it a little sparkle.

Went camping over the weekend back to the Quad Cities to visit with my family. We had a great time as usual. The flooding back there is terrible. When we arrived in town, we had to drive through 7 to 8 inches of water that had gone over the road from the river.

The next day we went out for breakfast and the road had been closed, so we had to go around the long way. Its terrible to see homes that are completely in the water. I feel bad for those people.

Going camping this weekend also with the girls. I think us girls are gonna have a blast. We have some fun things planned. Now if the weather cooperates, we will be just fine. I saw in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, isolated thundershowers...that is really gonna cut into our pool time. Guess we will have to find something else to do....which wont be hard at all

Anyway, that's about it for today...I have a busy day ahead of me so need to get going over here.

TAC-Thinking of you

This set has long since retired but I was looking through my stamps the other day and found this set. I hadn't made a card with this set for ages. Ive been trying to do some cards with stamp sets that I don't use very often.

I started by picking out my pattern paper, which came from one of my Memory Works kits, then I went from there. I used my Prismacolor markers to color my image. Added some ribbon on the side and used my punches to make my little flower at the top and bottom.

I didn't put any kind of sentiment on the inside of my card, since I will add it to my stash of cards and then when the occasion arises, I will add a sentiment to the card before it is sent out.

I do have more cards that I just finished but I need to take some pictures, which I will do today after my busy day.

Its bowling day with the boys and then I need to do some grocery shopping, a few other errands, and hopefully I can get my hair highlighted later this afternoon...whew, I need more hours in my day. I wanted to lay out in my pool this afternoon too, but I don't think I can squeeze this in and its suppose to rain this afternoon...BIG SURPRISE!!

Lily Picking Flowers

Finally got to create with one of my newest stamps that arrived in my mailbox last week. This stamp is by Rachel Ann Miller and its called Lily Picking Flowers.

I have more on order but they have yet to grace my mailbox....hopefully soon.

I started by picking out this pattern paper and then colored my image from there. I did add a second layer to my flowers to make them dimensional. I used my punches to create the little flower at the top, but looking at it now, I should of picked a different color for the bottom flower...probably should of picked up the green in the card. Next time.

I colored with Prismacolor markers, Sharpies, and Stampin Up. I think she turned out pretty cute...I am gonna do another card that is a bit more summery in color when I finish the ones I'm working on now.

I did get some images colored today to add to make into more cards this week...so stay tuned.

Stampin Up Celebrate

I cant really take credit for this..I was looking through the gallery at Splitcoast Stampers and I came across this cute train. I used the same colors on the train, but my card is much different....anyway, I thought it was cute.

I'm making one for the girls also, but didn't get it finished today.

I did however get 12 other cards done today.

House Mouse Lazy Days

Another image I got from a RAK..I wish I had this stamp cause I just love it. Those little mice crack me up. This is something I like to do when its hot outside..not lay on ice cubes, but get in my pool and just lay on my float and soak up some sun.

I colored my image with Prismacolor markers. The paper used with more of my Cosmo Cricket. Pretty easy card to put together...although, coloring this took some time. I did emboss the ice cubes with clear embossing powder to give it shine.

Yesterday I went to visit my cousin's new baby...Grace. My Aunt and Uncle are staying this week to care for her while mom works. I had forgotten how tiring taking care of a baby can be. When I first got there, she was sleeping. Once she woke up it was a matter of keeping her happy. I wish you could of seen me on the floor spinning one of her toys round and round just to keep her occupied while my Aunt and Uncle got some preparations done for dinner. I even changed her diaper...usually I will hand the baby back to mom for diaper changes....one funny thing though is that I put her diaper on backwards and I had a heck of a time getting her clothes back on...its just been too long(almost 16 years since I had to change diapers) and baby Grace was not happy that I couldn't get those snaps hooked fast enough...lol It was a great day and I got some cute pictures of her.

Today is bowling day with my boys. My oldest(19) says that he is gonna beat his mom today..we will see. One week my friend came with us and her and I beat the boys. I asked my oldest how it felt to get beat by two women who are twice his age..haha

My youngest (16) does great at bowling also. He has a powerful throw so he can really knock down those pins. So it will be fun to see how everyone does today.

Two New Cards

Ok, since I have let you hanging for days, here are two new cards for you. This first one is my newest House Mouse stamp. I think its pretty funny. I love the sentiment that goes with this stamp. I colored the image with Prismacolor markers and used my white gel pen to add the dots.

Second card is a simple graduation card that I did for our card box at church. The diploma is TAC and I'm not sure where I got the "Congratulations" I actually made the background paper. Just typed "Graduation" over and over and used different fonts and sizes and then print it out. Pretty easy. I will try to be a better blogger in the next few days....tata for now.

More Mice

I got this image in a card swap that I'm involved in monthly. Its pretty cool cause you get a nice RAK and you get images along with your card..its pretty awesome.

This image is too cute and I plan on ordering it when I get some extra cash...hmm..whenever that might be. I have it on my wish list, so hopefully soon I can order it.

I used my Cosmo Cricket paper that I ordered off of QVC the last time there was a scrapbooking fair on. It came as a kit...two 8x8 scrapbooks and other projects. I love the paper.

I colored the image with a combination of Prismacolor markers, BIC markers, and I think I used a Stampin Up marker. I added stickles to the bubbles. The "refresh, renew, revive" I got from a Club Scrap kit that I got a long time ago. Thought it went well with the card.

Hobby Lobby Stamp Find

First, sorry this picture is crooked...I seriously need help sometimes in photographing my cards.

I found this stamp at Hobby Lobby a week ago and almost didn't buy it because I wasn't sure I would use it enough. But it grew on me as I walked around the store shopping. I suppose you could use it for a birthday card for your sweetie, valentines day, anniversary, and probably more that I cant think of at the moment. I colored it like it was on the actual stamp. I'm sure you could color the couple....perhaps I will give that a try. I do love the fact that it is a big stamp so it takes up the whole front of the card. I should add some kind of sentiment to it, but will save that for when I decide to actually send it to someone.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Sure goes by quickly. Back to the old grind tomorrow...yuk. I think I'm taking my youngest to a movie tomorrow, so that will be fun.

House Mouse Day

I actually got some cards done today and remembered to take a picture this time.

This was a fun image to work with. It has so many possibilities. Anniversary, Valentines, how about a Birthday kiss? So many things you could do with this.

Colored with Prismacolor markers and Bic markers. The XOXOXO is from a clear stamp set that I got at Michaels. I believe it is from one of those dollar stamp sets.

Pattern paper is from a spring slab that I got at JoAnn Fabrics. Added a nice sheer green ribbon at the top and walaa, its done.

And yes, if you click the image to make it larger, you will notice that I accidentally cut the mouses tails off..haha. At least they still have some left.

Hope you didn't spend too much money today on QVC for their National Scrapbooking Day event. I watched most of it and even recorded it. I didn't buy one thing. That's amazing, I must say. Maybe it was because I was too busy making cards.

Gruffies

Well, I bet you thought I had gone MIA on ya huh? Nah, I wouldn't do that to all of you. But I did do something today that was just a big "DUH" moment. I finished up like 30 cards over the weekend and today I was going to take pictures before dropping them off at the church...well, here comes the "duh" I totally forgot to take pictures. Geez, I hate it when I do stupid things like that. At least I still have this Gruffies card that I haven't shown you.

I haven't come up with a good sentiment for this one, so it got a "thinking of you"

Colored with Prismacolor markers and used some paper from my growing stash. Does that thing ever go down? I'm gonna need to find space for my scraps now.

Well, I can actually breath now for awhile. I got cards done for the church, I have some ready to go to the boutique I sell at, and now maybe I can do some much needed scrapbooking. Especially since National Scrapbooking Day is coming up on QVC. I will for sure be watching that. I really should just record it so I wont spend any money. But what fun is that?

Stampin Up Church

Have you ever felt like you were drowning and the more you got your self up to the top, down you went again. This is how I have been feeling these days. I'm bogged down with cards, cards, and cards. Its that time again to make cards for the boutique I sell at and now our stamp group at church put a card box in the office. Soooo...now that needs to be kept stocked.....help...lol

This is a card I did for the new members that joined our church. I still need a "Welcome" on the front of the card and I have noo idea what to put on the inside. I'm hoping my answer will come soon from my Pastors wife.

This is a Stampin Up set. Its originally suppose to be a Christmas stamp, but as you can see, you can use it for other seasons as well. For a fall card you could put some colors in the trees...would be cute. Anyway, I colored Prismacolor markers and then I made a mask of the church and used my daubers and inks for the sky and grass. Turned out pretty good.

I'm hoping to get a bunch of these done up so when we have new members join our church, these are ready to go.

So, that's what I have been up to for the last four days. I'm hoping things will settle down in the next couple of days. Just as soon as I get all this done.

Maybe one of these days, I will be able to scrapbook again. I'm so missing that right now. Not to mention I have hundreds of pictures that need to be scrapbooked. Perhaps I better go to a crop. That might be the only way I'm gonna get caught up...sigh.

House Mouse Celebrate

Just got this new House Mouse stamp a couple of weeks ago and I love, love, love it.

I'm happy I ordered it. I used my Prismacolor markers to color in the image. I used Stickles on the top of the hat and the paper pieces flying in the air. The pattern paper was from a slab I got at Michaels...I believe its the spring slab. Lots of bright fun colors in this slab. I also bought the coordinating cardstock and some rub ons.

Added some brown ribbon on the side and used a green ink pad to add some color to the sentiment at the bottom.

Fishing Anyone?

Here is a "manly" card I made a while back. This is one of the newer male bellas that I ordered about a month ago. This is gonna go to one of my brother in laws for his birthday. The fish and basket images are from TAC..thought they went well with the fishing bella. Plus the card needed something more once I got most of it together.

I colored with Bic markers and Prismacolor markers.

Ive been busy these days with taking my youngest back and forth for drivers ed four times a week. For those of you who have gone through this with your kids, you know what I mean. Scary!! I have only taken him out once. He has no desire to really drive. He has gone out with his instructor once and will go out again this week. I really need to get him out there though since I have to do 50 hours with him. He might be 20 before he gets his hours in..haha

I think spring has finally made an appearance here in Illinois. Its about time. I am sick of the snow and cold weather. Now you know, once it gets hot, I'm gonna be complaining about it being sooo hot out. We are never really happy are we?

I have some other Gruffies cards done, just need to take a some pictures so I can post them on my blog. Should be able to get that done today.

Another Gruffies Card

Here is another Gruffie card that I did yesterday. I thought the sentiment went well with this because I was thinking that the card the little guy forgot to send, was in that paper mess somewhere...haha. Made sense to me anyway. Colored this one with my Prismacolor markers. I can't seem to decide how I want to color these little guys. My next one I might try to watercolor. Who knows.

Today my youngest went out driving with his driving instructor. I was very nervous because yesterday I took him to an empty parking lot and he about gave me whiplash several times. Not to mention the curbs we almost ran over....hehe. I have a Durango and I think its just too powerful for him. For a first time driver, it can be intimidating. Its a Hemi, so that's allot of power. Also, its big and I think he just cant see things the way he could in a smaller vehicle.

Well, after he got home today, his instructor said he did awesome. He took him out on busy roads..YIKES...I was gonna take him back to the empty parking lot..ha. Also, he got a perfect score for pulling into a parking space. We did practice that quite a bit yesterday. Good thing.

So all is well. Tomorrow though I'm taking him out in my oldest sons truck. Its a Dodge Dakota and not so powerful or too big.

Ok, I know I blabbed allot in this post about personal things, but I just had to tell someone..lol

Score-Gruffies

On one of my yahoo groups, someone mentioned that she found Gruffies at Hobby Lobby...so I thought I would go check it out after I had lunch today with my oldest...there they were...I got five of them. Of course I didn't write down the names of them...so I will do that tomorrow.

This is one of the stamps that I got today.

I colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I don't usually color with my pencils, cause I never get the look that everyone else seems to get with this technique, but I gave it another try. I did use a black sharpie on the claws.

The flowers at the bottom are punched..used a circle punch for the center, the green color, and then I added a small Prima flower, and a rhinestone in the middle. Next I added stickles to the flower petals.

I think it turned out pretty good...it will make a great Birthday card for my niece perhaps.

Another Transparency Card

Here is another try at using a transparency. I still need lots of practice, but this one didnt turn out too bad. I had a problem with the sentiment at the bottom....the stamp slipped on me. Took too long to color those darn flowers for me to do it over....so its smudged. Not gonna send this one out to anyone..hehe

Its been raining here all day long. Chilly and rainy...yuk and yuk.

I got some new stamps in the mail yesterday, so will now need to make some cards with what I got.

Paper Pieced Butterfly

This is from one of my newest TAC sets that I got a couple of weeks ago. I just love the swirls on the butterfly. I picked out some Basic Gray paper and thought I would paper piece the butterfly also. I added some green ribbon between the pattern paper and the plain brown cardstock.

Not sure if I should of added that second ribbon at the top or not. But I think it turned out ok.

The little sentiment on the side is a stamp that I ordered many years ago from Verses.

They have some really nice verse stamps for all your cards. They come on wood blocks so if you like unmounted, like I do, you will have to unmount it or just use it the way it comes.
