New Card

Well, I haven't posted a new card in awhile. Maybe I will be able to get two on here today. Sometimes blogger doesn't like to cooperate with me. These cards are sketch challenge cards. I was so behind on my sketch challenges so on Monday I sat down and did them all. I'm glad I'm done and I am even two ahead. Maybe I can get more done before next week. Who knows.

Today I'm not sure I will have any time to create anything new. I need to finish up school with Nick so we can get work sent in for the year and put together some scrapbooks. The ladies at my church have been buying cards and scrapbooks from me. The last time we met three ladies ordered scrapbooks. Two baby ones, a travel one, and a boy scrapbook through the years. So, I have one baby one almost done and that's it. So, I really need to get cracking on the rest of them.

The first card was pretty easy. I just stamped the flower, cut it out and glued it on the ribbon. The ribbon is suppose to be orange, but my scanner didn't like it. I did add some stickles to the center. I used Diamond. The flower stamp is TAC and the sentiment comes from SU.

The second card is another card my scanner didn't like. The background paper is textured lilac in color. This looks kinda funky. Not sure why the colors sometimes look this way on my scanner. I'm sure its a matter of the settings. Stamps on this second card are TAC. Guess that's it for now...I will try to upload a few more tomorrow.

Girlfriend Wednesday

Yes, its Wednesday and we usually do girlfriend day on Tuesday, but today we went downtown to the Museum Of Science And Industry. Only three of us went downtown today. We went to see the CSI exhibit. It was really cool. You solved your own crime scene. And we got it right. We are now CSI rookies...how special.

Today was a day of first for Edie...Carla and I told her she was riding the CTA back to the bus station instead of us taking a cab back. We caught a cab outside the train station to take us to the museum and when we got there it was 20.00 bucks. Now we did split it three ways, so that wasn't bad, but there was no way I was paying another 20.00 bucks to get back to the train station. I do think this cab driver took the LONGEST way to the museum as possible though. Probably thought three girls didn't know jack about where things are located downtown. Should of gotten his name so I don't get in his cab again..ha. Another thing that made me nuts was this driver had all the windows open in his cab and our hair was blowing all over the place. Now, wouldn't you think he would notice this and ask if maybe we might like the windows rolled up? NOOOO...not our driver. So, in this picture I'm posting, I have no control over how my hair looks. Its pretty crazy looking.

Anyway, it was a fun day downtown. My husband says I'm getting to be a pro at getting on the train and going downtown for the day. He also says he knows that a year ago, there would of been no way I would of gone on a train downtown without him. Now, I'm not saying I would go by myself, but with the girls, its ok. I did wonder for a moment downtown waiting for the bus if this strange guy was gonna give us some trouble....Edie wouldn't sit down at the bus stop so in case he came closer, she was gonna run...haha. The crazy thing is he DID get closer to us just as the bus was coming....whew. I told hubby that I'm getting mace.

Sonya, Carla and Edie. Enjoy

Fun Day

Today is my 20 year anniversary. We celebrated by going downtown Chicago to see The Color Purple. The show was awesome. I would see it again and again. I saw Wicked with my girlfriends and I think The Color Purple was better. Hubby and I rode the train downtown and then once there we found Jimmy Johns for lunch...I had never had Jimmy Johns...they have really great subs. I now have a favorite place for subs. No more Subway for me...its Jimmy Johns all the way. After lunch we found a lounge right down the street from the Cadillac Palace and had a few martinis and then it was time for the show.

I had an awesome day. This is probably one of the best anniversaries Ive had. Other than my trip to Mexico.

I dont have any new cards to show you, so instead, you get a digi page. This is a picture of my mom and her husband Raymonds new RV..I was pointing at my husband so Oreo would look at the camera..but he didnt, and I look strange doing it..haha.

Enjoy. Until next time.....

Been Awhile

Well, Im behind in posting....no big surprise since its been so busy these days. With the weather so nice I sometimes dont like to sit and stamp or scrapbook. This card though I did for a swap so I had to get it done. The stamps are clear stamps that I picked up from Hobby Lobby. Not sure what the brand is. I colored the flowers with markers. Pretty simple card. The little decorative paper at the top was a full size sheet of pattern paper that I had in my stash. I just cut the border out of the paper. Perfect if you dont want to use a lot of pattern paper or if you dont have a stamp border that you might like to use.

It was a beautiful lazy day today. I spent most of my day in the sunroom with all the windows open and read my book. Tomorrow its suppose to be much cooler. The high today was 80 and now they say tomorrow is only gonna be in the low 60's. I wish this weather would make up its mind...80 one day, 60 the next...making me nuts. Tomorrow I have a graduation party to go to in the afternoon and then I really should get some swaps done.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Until next time........

Hard To Believe

Today is my oldest sons 18th birthday...where does time go? Seems like only yesterday he was a toddler. I look over old photos of him when he was a baby and its hard to believe that he is 18 today. Its hard for me to wrap my brain around that. Time goes by so quickly. We went out tonight for a birthday dinner. We have always let the kids pick out where they want to go for their birthdays, no matter the cost. Its a fun tradition that we all enjoy. We had a great night together as a family.

In another month my youngest will be able to take drivers ed. Next thing you know he will be 18. I dont even want to think about the day that they leave home....thats just too much to think about.

I did actually get a card scanned in tonight after we got home. I dont have a sentiment on this one cause I cant decide what I want to put on it....I think I might have a stamp that says something like "Flowers for my friend" but not sure. Colored with my prismacolor pencils and used stickles on the wings. I think I used it on the flower too, but not sure now.

I promise to get back on the wagon with my cards again. Been so busy, its hard to sit down and get anything done. Im sure with summer approaching, its only gonna get busier.

Anyway, enjoy. OH, I did score another Happy Hopper stamp at Hobby Lobby today. They only had this one. I keep looking every time I go into that store hopping to find the ones that I want but they have been out of. I havent even used it yet, so maybe tomorrow I will get to it, who knows.
Also to all you mothers out there, I hope you all have a wonderful Mothers Day.
